ATA Science Council Conference 2026

The Alberta Teachers' Association Science Council holds its 2026 conference in November. Two official ATA sources currently describe it differently, so confirm the details with the Council before you make plans.

The Science Council's own conference page — the organizer — describes the ATA Science Council Conference: Space & Technology Online Symposium, on Saturday, November 7, 2026, 10 am to 3 pm via Zoom. It lists sessions with people working in the Canadian space industry, breakout sessions on educational technology, space exploration and project-based learning, grade-division discussions, and an annual general meeting. The page says the conference is free to all ATA Science Council members, and that registration opens in September.

The ATA's central events calendar still lists the Science Council Conference as Friday, November 6 – Saturday, November 7, 2026 at the Banff Centre in Banff, Alberta. That page gives no format, no program, and no registration link — only the ATA's Professional Development team at pd@ata.ab.ca as a contact.

The two sources agree on Saturday, November 7. They disagree on whether the event runs one day or two, and on whether it happens online or at the Banff Centre.

We would go with the Council's own page: it is the organizing body, it is more specific, and it is actively maintained — it already carries a save-the-date for the next conference, November 5–6, 2027. If you are planning travel or booking release time, confirm directly with the Science Council or with pd@ata.ab.ca first.
